Paul is the Principal of Cheshire Law Associates (CLA) Solicitors Cheshire and has a wealth of experience in a variety of disciplines within the legal field.
Paul commenced employment within a solicitors office 25 years ago, initially dealing with debt and insolvency matters before progressing to civil litigation. Thereafter, he dealt with criminal matters from the police station, Magistrates court through to the Crown court.
A portion of his time is spent appearing before courts all over the country, particularly in London, generally at least once a month.
Internationally, Paul has dealt with matters in Mallorca, which involved him personally attending upon various agencies and government departments including the British Embassy. Paul also has Higher Rights of audience allowing appearances at high courts such as Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.
A particular enthusiasm and hobby of Paul has been sports cars, the natural progression for this being a keen interest in Motoring Law. Paul has been involved in this specialist area for over a decade. The most favourable memory being, where he represented an individual who accumulated 23 points on his licence and was still allowed to drive, due to his individual personal circumstances and Pauls expertise and skill.

John has spent over 30 years in the profession he loves. He is actively involved in the day to day business of Cheshire Law Associates | Solicitors Cheshire and his specialisms include property and sports law.
John is also an experienced law lecturer and has taught on the ILEX course for a number of years.
He is actively involved in the marketing and publicity of the firm together with obtaining new sources of business. John has developed a large number of legal contacts and has completed literally thousands of transactions.
As a result of his ILEX tutoring John is well known to most up and coming young Legal Executives. John remains committed to providing a high street practice dedicated to serving the needs of the individual and the community.
In addition John is actively involved in the world of Association Football where he represents players and high profile managers in relation to negotiating contracts and all other matters. John has done the ‘Uefa B’ coaching course and is a consultant for a number of league and non league clubs giving advice on players, systems of play, scouting and team tactics.
John is young dynamic and forward thinking and is a driving force for the business. He retains a passion for his industry which has been lost to some. He is a keen reader of thrillers and historical novels. He has two grown up sons, one who has followed him into the law and the other who is a professional footballer at Carlisle United FC.
John obtained his degree in Law at John Moores University however he was offered a place at Oxford to read history which was his first passion. John has a keen interest in military history and is considered an authority on the American Civil War.
Alain heads the private client department. He supervises the drafting of wills, advises & handles probates and lasting powers of attorney. He also deals with the drafting then setting up trusts and tax efficient structures. This includes liaising with our client’s accountants and sometimes the HM Revenue and Customs direct
Alain has extensive experience both as a solicitor advising on commercial property acquisitions and dealing with private client’s legal issues. He qualified as a Solicitor in September 1996 and worked in London for a number of years. He understands our clients’ requirements and deal with matters in an efficient and effective manner.
Alain is fluent in German and French, he has used this in his business activities, including liaising with foreign lawyers as required.
Alain is married with two daughters and a son. He is an avid Manchester United supporter, and enjoys working out at the gym.
Rachel graduated from the University of Manchester in 2005 with a degree in Economics and Social Policy before continuing on to BPP Law School in London where she undertook the law conversion and then legal practice courses.
Rachel joined Portner (West End based firm in Central London) in 2007 as a trainee and qualified into the Residential Property department in 2009 acting mainly on both freehold and leasehold residential transactions as well as some commercial property matters.
She joined Cheshire Law as an associate in 2013 and is enjoying working in the Wills and Probate department, meeting with clients in and around London.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling and retail therapy.
Seb Jackson undertakes corporate and commercial legal work having practiced in this field for circa 15 years. He trained at a large international practice in London and has experience in business sales and purchases, joint ventures and private equity work, shareholder agreements, several types of commercial contracts and commercial dispute resolution.
Seb taught business law at the college of law, Chester for a number of years and has lectured on the Companies Act.
Educated at Oxford University, Seb enjoys sport and reading in his spare time. He plays tennis and golf to a high level and is determined to improve his snooker.
Rachel will manage your file from beginning to end, advising throughout as to the best possible outcome for you providing support and efficient advice. Rachel has had varied experience dealing with various types of matters of different values and has experience of representing clients in court.
Rachel is also a qualified family mediator. Rachel has a young son and enjoys travelling, reading, theatre and cinema as well as all “mum” related activities! Rachel is also a school governor at her sons Primary School.
Rachel attended University in Sheffield and received a BA (Hons) degree in Law. Rachel then remained in Sheffield to do her Diploma in Legal Practice. She did her training contract at a firm in Bootle, Liverpool where she qualified as a Solicitor in 1999 and has continued to work in Merseyside and on the Wirral for much of her career.
Rachel is a solicitor who specialises in family and matrimonial law. This includes work related to divorce, financial matters, children issues as well as injunctions, Change of Name Deeds, separation agreements, pre marital agreements, dissolution proceedings and all aspects of family law.
David is has been a specialist in employment law since 2001 working both for employers and employees throughout that time.
Prior to 2001 David work in debt recovery and commercial litigation for 7 years, covering commercial disputes and insolvency law together with general debt collection through the High and County Court.
Having moved from the above into specialising in employment law David represented a national Trade Union for a number of years working on Tribunal cases and disputes throughout the country against a major Government Department.
Added to this David also worked closely with a journalistic staff association in respect of employment relations and represented members of national sports unions.
Alongside working for individuals in disputes with their employers David has also represented a great number of employers throughout his time in this area, ranging from large PLC’s to SME business. That work involves both defending proceedings when brought but also advisory work on all day to day issues, staff handbooks/policies and structural planning together with business takeovers and mergers.
David believes it is important that he continues to represent both sides in respect of employers and employees to enable him to consider the whole picture which then enhances the representation he is engaged in.
Amongst the areas David has worked extensively in are, unfair/constructive dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, disciplinary procedures and senior management training.
